Oakville CAO Jane Clohecy to retire after two decades with town
Oakville Chief Administrative Officer Jane Clohecy has announced her retirement, CHCH News reports. Her departure is effective Dec. 31, following 20 years with the town and a 45-year career in municipal government.
Clohecy joined Oakville in 2006 as commissioner of community development and became CAO in 2020 after senior planning roles with Halton Region and the cities of Markham and Toronto. Town officials credit her with helping guide the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic, legislative changes and financial and growth pressures.
She is expected to remain focused on the town’s priorities until the end of the year. The incoming mayor and council will decide the next steps for the CAO position and Oakville’s future leadership needs.
