Wyecroft-Brontë restrictions now described as intermittent
The Town of Oakville’s construction projects page now lists the Wyecroft Road extension notice as last updated October 8, 2026. It says intermittent lane restrictions will be in place at and near Wyecroft Road and Bronte Road through November 2026, with traffic configurations subject to change as work progresses.
The notice continues to warn motorists, pedestrians, cyclists and transit users of longer-than-usual travel times and advises people to plan ahead.

BUZZ HPC pledges to privately fund proposed Oakville AI campus connection
Capacity reports that BUZZ High Performance Computing will pay for the electrical connection, transformer infrastructure, grid expansions and fibre-optic backbone planned for its proposed Oakville AI campus. President and COO Craig Tavares said the costs would not be passed to municipal taxpayers or recovered through a project-specific residential electricity rate increase.
The proposed campus was announced at a cost of C$3.5 billion and with a planned capacity of 320 megawatts. Oakville’s data-centre moratorium runs until August 2027 and could be extended to two years, while BUZZ has not submitted a formal application.
BUZZ has not yet released projected water use or noise levels. The company says it is examining district energy and waste-heat recovery, but has not identified a waste-heat partner; it has also offered council an independent technical expert to review its studies.
