Oakville road closures scheduled throughout October

Oakville drivers should prepare for multiple road closures in October, oakvillenews.org reports, with work and community events affecting streets across town. The first closure is planned for George Street on Oct. 3, followed by event-related closures for the Oakville Half Marathon on Oct. 4.

George Street will be closed between Lakeshore Road East and Church Street from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 3. On Oct. 4, closures and lane restrictions will affect Lakeshore Road West, Old Lakeshore Road, Bronte Road, Ontario Street and East Street between 6 and 11 a.m.

Construction-related closures are scheduled from Oct. 5 to Oct. 9 on Westminster Drive, Margaret Drive and Elmwood Road. Sherin Drive is expected to remain closed between Rebecca Street and Bridge Road until Nov. 14, while Macdonald Road will be closed between Trafalgar Road and Reynolds Street from Oct. 7 to Oct. 23. Detour routes and local-access arrangements vary by location.
