Free REmarket event brings decluttering and reuse to Bronte

Oakville News reports that REmarket Oakville brought residents together at Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park for a free community event focused on decluttering, donating and recycling unwanted items.

Tables near Fisherman’s Wharf featured clothing, books, medals, trophies and household items. Visitors could take items at no cost, donate electronics at an e-waste station and see recyclable materials turned into art. Leftover items were donated to the Salvation Army.

Organizer Ariel Ng estimated that 200 to 300 people attended the first Oakville event. She said organizers hope to hold the market regularly and give residents more notice for future events.
