Jamie Bay appointed Oakville’s Ward 5 councillor
Oakville Town Council has appointed Jamie Bay to represent Ward 5 following the death of Coun. Marc Grant in July, CHCH News reports.
The appointment was made after Jeff Knoll brought forward an alternate motion. The appointment had originally been scheduled for the Sept. 28 council meeting.
Bay will serve as Ward 5 town councillor for the remainder of the 2022-26 term of council. The Municipal Act, 2001 requires the seat to be filled because Grant died more than 90 days before this year’s municipal election.
