Towne Square revitalization set to begin in September
INhalton Oakville reports that construction on Oakville’s Towne Square Revitalization Project is tentatively scheduled to begin the week of Sept. 14. The roughly one-year, $7.5-million redevelopment is expected to be completed in September 2027.
The town says businesses, residences and other downtown destinations will remain accessible during construction, with staging and worker parking moved off-site. Work is expected to pause in November for the holiday season before resuming in the first quarter of 2027, weather permitting.
The redesigned square will include amphitheatre-style seating, a water feature, raised planters, additional seating, new trees, enhanced landscaping, decorative lighting and accessible paving. The Millennium Tower Clock will be stored during construction and returned after the project is complete. The annual Holiday Tree Lighting will remain at Towne Square in 2026, while winter events will take place at Centennial Square.
